Everyone has to lie. That’s the method in Trump’s madness. To live in unreality, the MAGA movement must maintain mass social delusions. The election was stolen. Jan. 6 was a false flag operation by the FBI/antifa. And now, the fake photo is real.
Kudos to Terry Moran of ABC for dragging the truth into sight. In his now famous interview with Trump, the president insisted that an obviously doctored photo was real. The picture—plainly Photoshopped to read MS13—fooled Trump, who insisted not just that it was real, but that Moran must agree it was real.
“Why don’t you just say yes?” he demanded.
Moran responded with the evidence, but no one is allowed to contradict the lie. Trump then claimed with incredible chutzpah that no one trusts journalism because…we don’t spread his obvious lie.
Here’s another clear example of Trump punishing someone for telling the truth:
In early April, President Trump issued an executive order condemning Chris Krebs—who in Trump’s first term headed the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency—on the grounds that Krebs had said that the 2020 presidential election was free and fair. The order is so blatant in its attempt to rewrite history that to call it Orwellian would be something of an insult to Big Brother. …. It is authoritarian. What Donald Trump believes, the order suggests, becomes the truth.
The lie is the point. Believe it, repeat it, or be cast out.
