Let me highlight this week a few ways that YouTubers are pushing back against the dangerous authoritarian agenda in the USA. Often the most effective weapon is humor.

As a Virginian, I love Southern progressives, who cut across partisan and race expectations by speaking (literally) with redneck authority. These red-state satirists sass all the White Male Idiots from inside the beast itself.

The most famous is probably Liberal Redneck, or Tray Crowder of Tennessee.  Known for his “porch rants,” he’s the trailer-trash John Stewart. Crowder has been warning about Trump since before the first primary. Here he is welcoming Lauren Boebert of Colorado to the “whiskey tango” hall of fame:
